The best reality show on television is not American Idol, Survivor, or the other large, steaming loads networks are calling entertainment. No, the best reality television show is the presidential race. I never knew so much about the primary process. I have to thank the writers' strike for putting "regular" television on the backburner so America can focus the presidential race. Unfortunately, the issues that matter to this country are being glossed over while we focus on whether a canidate is black enough, not a bitch, conservative, part of a cult, a hayseed.... One canidate is a friggin' rock star. People are crying and swooning over his speeches. Any day now I'm expecting some mindless groupie to throw her Fruit-of-the-Looms on the podium while he pontifcates on hope and change. There is another canidate that is getting beat like a well made drum over everything. She can't do anything right for the Hope and Changers. She is difficult to pigeonhole, so they call her a bitch. Wow, that is progressive! Then you have a guy who was considered a conservative joke. The conservatives hate him and the liberals tolerate him. But somehow this guy is now the front runner. I'm sorry, I have nothing against veterans. I have veterans in my family, so I have a bit of insight. Guys who come back from war or any armed conflict have a lot of mental issues they need to have resolved. Can we trust a guy who was not only in combat but a POW for 5 years running America? Then we have the conservative sidekick that won't give up. He has a snowball chance in hell to win the nomination, but he's still burning money and creating a huge carbon footprint by travelling to prove...a point. Can someone please tell me what his point is?
I'm seriously enjoying this show. This country needs a real 3rd party. This two horse show is getting old. On one side you have the same person in different packaging and on the other side you have a party that can't find their identity. A year from now we will have a new president. I'm being told that the next president will be super important. Looking at the canidates, I really can't figure out who will be able to fill those shoes. We have a "war" that needs to be resolved. The war-at-home is a hot mess that no one wants to talk about. I mean, these cats like to promise the moon, but in the end all thinking folks know that a promise is easily broken once you're in the White House. Seriously, I wish each one of these cats stop being a politician and tell the truth. Stop the bullshit catchprases and lay it all out there for us to see. We need to get rid of the electorate college so we won't end up with another Bush in office. We need to do so much, but then again....
